BABY CHICKS HERE!
We had 2 yellow fluffy babies hatch yesterday and a further 2 were in the incubator this morning. Everyone on site is very excited to come up to the house and peer in to the box in our kitchen and see the chicks under the heat lamp. Our previous brood of 4 are now 7 weeks old and will soon be introduced to the main flock for a couple of weeks before they join them. Having got the hang of the incubator we can now start incubator rarer breeds so watch out for some unusual chickens wandering about Wringworthy.
We have introduced 3 new breeds into the flock and they are all settling in really well. We know how much our guests enjoy feeding the chickens and seeing them wandering around picking the bugs off of my bedding plants and generally enjoying the sunshine.
DO THINGS FOR FREE!
We know that holidays can be expensive but there are lots of things to do for free around and about. Some tried and tested favourites for guests include:
* walking from Looe to Polperro on the Coastal Path. A really good walk taking about 2 and a quarter hours but not difficult even for smaller children. Some superb spots for picnics on the way. We went this week and just caught the last boat back which we had all to ourselves. Spectacular scenery and the sea was like a mill pond. * crabbing off the quay at Looe. We have the buckets and the crab lines. Use old scraps as bait and you are off! * Mount Edgecumbe country park - great views across to the sea side of Plymouth. Come in the Spring and see the National Camellia collection or visit in the Autumn and collect conkers. * Bodmin Moor - take a kite and a picnic and you can be up here all day. Wonderful panoramic views across the Moors and the chance to see the famous Cheesewring and Hurlers close up. We provide the map so its easy to find. *Colliford Lake - a haven for wildlife and a real treat for bird watchers.
There's lots of other activities and days out - just ask us for details.
ATTRACTIONS - WE HAVE BEEN OUT AND ABOUT TO TEST DRIVE THEM.
We like to make sure that we try out attractions locally so that we can recommend them on to our guests. Michael took the children to Kartworld at Menheniot with some friends of ours. It proved to be a huge success with both the adults and the children. Kartworld is only 5 minutes drive away and the group of 8 turned up without pre-booking. You can book either a 10, 20 or 30 minute session and these are run as 10 minutes on the track at a time which everyone felt was long enough in one go as you really had to concentrate. The adults and children were all able to be on the same track, though in different types of karts. The attraction was very well run and managed so that even when waiting there was something to do or see. We would thoroughly recommend it.
DID YOU KNOW ......that here at Wringworthy we offer money off vouchers for a number of local restaurants and attractions. Just ask for your free leaflet and start exploring!
NO NEED TO GO OUT TO EAT OUT!...this week all of our guests are taking the opportunity to enjoy Wringworthy even more by eating outside. We provide:
the barbecues the coals the firelighters the seating
all you need to do is bring your sausages, salads, fish and anything else and you can enjoy a meal right outside your cottage. Take a dip in the pool, dry off in one of our deck chairs and then relax. Our outdoor seating will be right outside your cottage. So if you put the little ones to bed then you can still enjoy the warm evenings with no need for a babysitter or to decide who drives home! |
