Booking Conditions

These conditions apply to all reservations once a deposit payment for the booking has been made and receipt of the payment has been acknowledged. By making a deposit payment on booking, you are accepting these terms and conditions, so please read them through carefully.

Reservations – a reservation only becomes a booking when the agreed deposit has been received and this has been acknowledged to the hirer in writing.

Cottage booking – this is a booking for either an individual cottage or a number of cottages. Included in the hire is all electricity, heating, linen, towels, toddler and baby equipment, dog crates, wifi, the use of the cottage(s) and all other site facilities including the seasonal swimming pool, Games barn and grounds. It excludes the Group Party Barn and its contents.

Whole site booking – this is for the exclusive use of 8 cottages sleeping 42 + 5 cots, the Group Party Barn, Games Barn, outside space and seasonal swimming pool. Included in the hire is all electricity, heating, linen, towels, toddler and baby equipment, contents of the Group Party Barn and wifi.

The Hirer – this is person named on the booking information and they are responsible for all payments and any damages. Refunds will only be made directly to the Hirer.

The Owners – are the owners of Wringworthy cottages – Michael and Kim Spencer

The owners accept no responsibility for personal injury to guests or suppliers, loss or damage to their property or matters over which they have no direct control. We reserve the right to refuse any booking at any time. We reserve the right to close any facilities or parts of our land at any time.

 

MAKING A BOOKING

Bookings are only valid when confirmed in writing. By paying a deposit you enter into a legal contract between you and the owners which you agree to abide to.

The booking deposit is one third of the total amount, as paid by the hirer and agreed to in writing by the Owners. It is non-refundable.  You are therefore advised to take out insurance before doing this.

The balance for your booking must be paid 1 month before the start of your booking.

 

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellation with greater than 3 months’ notice – If you have paid in full and you cancel your booking in writing giving 3 months’ notice, then we will offer to transfer all monies paid to an alternative date. If this unacceptable to either party, then we will refund any balance paid minus the deposit.

Cancellation with less than 3 months’ notice – You are liable for the full amount of the hire costs if you cancel with less than 3 months written notice. You will be asked to settle the balance outstanding within 7 days of your written cancellation.

If we are able to re-let any of the cottages that you booked we will pass on the income that we receive minus the deposit. Any refunds are paid within 7 working days from the date the booking was due to end and will only be paid to the hirer.

 

GENERAL BOOKING CONDITIONS

  1. Cottages must never be occupied by more than the permitted number as stated when booking. The permitted number includes all adults and children aged 2+ years. A cot is only suitable for an infant aged 2 or under. If you exceed the permitted number sleeping in any cottage then the Hirer will be asked to relocate any additional guests off of site.
  2. All damages and breakages must be reported immediately. For large items or deliberate damage a charge will be levied on the Hirer.
  3. We reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee to the Hirer if the cottages or any other associated buildings or land are not left in the condition in which they were hired.
  4. Lettings are from 3pm on the day of arrival until 10am on the day of departure. Access to the Group Party Barn for decoration can be made available earlier on request providing the building is not already in use.
  5. Guests may smoke outside the cottages and barns only. No indoor smoking.
  6. We permit pets in all cottages and general areas on site. Pets are not permitted in the Games barn, duck pond area, swimming pool area or in the pool, chicken and donkey enclosures or donkey field at any time.
  7. Dogs must be older than 1 year and fully house trained. They can be left alone for short periods of time providing they are in a crate. Dogs must stay on lead whilst out on site or in any of the site buildings. Dog fouling must be bagged and binned on site.
  8. Dogs, except assistance dogs, are permitted except in July and August
  9. Guests causing excessive noise, disturbance or interference to the owners or neighbours, who smoke in non smoking areas or who leave their dog unattended or allow them off of lead onsite, will be asked to leave directly by the owners and the Hirer will be expected to ensure that this happens.
  10. We reserve the right to enter any part of the site at any time.

 

THIS SECTION APPLIES TO WHOLE SITE BOOKINGS ONLY

  1. The permitted numbers for each cottage will be given when booking.
  2. In total the site sleeps 42 as adults and children aged 2+ and 8 under 2s.
  3. In addition, 8 guests aged 2 – adult may stay off of site and attend any function on site but may not sleep here.
  4. If a marquee is in place then an additional 35 guests aged 2 – adult may stay off of site and attend any function on site but may not sleep here.
  5. All guests whether staying on or off site must be named 3 days before the start of the hire period in writing to the owners. Any changes must be immediately notified to them.
  6. The site may be used by 51-85 guests only by separate arrangement and agreement of the owner. There is an additional charge for every guest over the number of 50.
  7. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to notify the owners of any outside contractors, the times that they will be attending site and where they will be setting up. All suppliers used by the hirer on site must report to the owners on arrival before setting up. They must have their own public liability insurance and comply with all regulations in respect of Health and Safety. Any supplier found not to have insurances or to be acting contrary to any Act or Regulations will be asked to leave the site immediately by the owners. It is the Hirers responsibility to make sure that all outside contractors comply with the rules regarding use of the site.
  8. Specific conditions relate to the use of the party barn. These are detailed separately
